On Tuesday morning, January 8th, the New Westminster courthouse was the target of a bomb threat that prompted a police evacuation in the surrounding area. The evacuation affected key locations, including Douglas College and the nearby New Westminster Skytrain station. Sgt. Andrew Leaver of the New Westminster Police Department stated, "We treat every threat as real until we can determine otherwise."
