With stunning scenic views, B.C. towns would be perfect for a chaos-filled resort.
The highly anticipated third season of HBO's The White Lotus returning to streaming on February 16, set in picturesque Thailand. Upon waiting for the release to start my next binge, I began to ponder the possibilities of a White Lotus resort being set in beautiful British Columbia. Below are four locations within B.C. that would create a captivating scene for new storylines.
Haida Gwaii
Haida Gwaii is the definition of paradise—stunning views filled with natural sights and creatures. A resort located on Haida Gwaii could encourage visitors to appreciate Indigenous ways of living and respect the land that tourists have come to stay on. The location would create a deeper storyline that includes Indigenous stories and traditions.
Whistler
We've seen the White Lotus resort on beaches shrouded in sunshine. But how about taking the resort to a new level nestled in the mountains? Picture a White Lotus in Whistler, where tourists can enjoy the town's various views and activities. Also, could the Peak to Peak be a central storyline for someone who has gone missing?
Okanagan Valley
If Jennifer Coolidge's character has shown us anything, those who visit the White Lotus love their wine. A resort in the Okanagan would bring the heart of B.C.'s wine country to the screen and encapsulate viewers. A storyline featuring seasonal workers and guests would be an interesting plot that would keep all audiences on their toes.
Bowen Island
A secluded paradise that would create a fetching and thrilling storyline among the lush forests and ocean views. The small town provides a mystery that could have guests begin to unravel through their curiosity as they attempt to break through the tight-knit community. Bowen Island would provide audiences with an angle of gentrification of small communities mixed with the luxury of a resort.
Season Three of the White Lotus premieres on February 15 on HBO.
